A new addition to the long standing list of various out of the box stuff being promoted,by this blog is,Bhuvan(developed by ISRO ).Simply put,its India’s answer to the Google Earth,it does exactly what Google earth is capable,of but the best part is that Bhuvan,is specific with respect to India, and hence can pinpoint, even a small, village, ala,Rudraram, upto 10m,where as Google Earth does it for around 200m!!
Bhuvan is capable of providing, imagery upto 10m,for most of the major metro’s in India,in contrast Google earth ,restricts itself to about 200m.
Nevertheless ,its still in its Beta avatar, launched on August 12,2009,it can seriously do with some promotion,as its one hell of a wonder for an Indian organisation to collide head on with a private company,i aren't saying Google earth is bad,its just that bhuvan is obviously gotta be much better in its final form with the halo of ISRO,than in its Beta form.
Regards,
Paz.
