SCOOP!!!: Relaxation of Dress Code!

DETAILS:

Announcement date                  : (by) August,2010

Probability of getting approval : High!

Day                                        : Saturday/Friday(But since we published it,they will probably change the day of the week :P)

THANK YOU!!

Let me first start with thanking the juniors for their various inputs, and also the the Vizag students who pooled in their various resources to get this post ticking .And the new bunch of senior contributors thanks for joining us,Even thought we have gone offline from active participation :)

INTRODUCTION:

The management of GITAM University (Hyderabad) tried pretty  hard to enforce, the “Dress code”(Formal wear) in the first academic year itself, thought it was partially successful in the First semester, but that too changed once the second semester started ,and except for LAB session and the examinations, and some other selected days apart, the dress code in the Second semester was very minimal :)

REQUEST-Unheard:

When a group of students addressed a letter to the management (We have copies of the letter duly signed by various students supporting the move, and we will upload them in a couple of days :),We don’t have a scanner to do the job yet :(),to relax the dress code on one day of the week, but the management was reluctant to hear our please, and we had to invariably bear the burden on this ridiculous dress code, which was never defined specifically except put like “Shirts, and trousers only”(Okay A floral shirt is Formal ?? *Applause!!*,We will get back to this issue in a blog lashing article pretty soon !)

And this plea of ours was in vain, which laid buried with various other reforms the students desperately needed(Not wanted!).

RELAXATION:

The students will be allowed to wear casuals on a particular day in a week, this move is aimed at getting back some part of the long last reputation of the functioning of the local management of GITAM University(the management of GITAM university Vizag is extremely efficient compared to the local one,and caries a lot of goodwill in the students circle unlike the local one!)

Yes,students will like this idea of relaxation, but they will not forget the past mistakes of the management, and will still be curing them for not being able to provide water coolers and meets various other needs of the students.

This move is but a small step, even thought the management might claim that this move will make way for further reforms,We at the blog beg to differ.

And the management is not doing it out of love or affection towards the students, they are making this relaxation only because they believe that on  other 5 days of a week, the students might be willing to oblige and follow the “dress code”.

DAY:

this will be tricky, inside sources hint at it being finalised for Friday(According to the Juniors),but the vizag sources who have inside news on the Hyderabad campus, strongly believe that it will be on Saturday.

And since,we at the blog have now published it,the management which is determined to get even with us will probably make an attempt at ruining at least one of our SCOOP!! articles, and put it on any of the other four days.(As of now,GITAM University Hyderabad doesn’t work on Sundays :P)

But that doesn't matter, what does matter is that, the relaxation will come,if the things go the way they are planned,it shall be announced pretty soon.

CONCLUSION:

This move will be widely welcomed(But not appreciated!),but the managements dumb definition of “Formal wear” as “Shirt and trousers”(For boys),will not go down without a debate.

During the first academic year,First semester to be precise, people never had a chance to speak up and put their plans/problems across the table, and the dress code was hardly followed in the Second semester, but with the management gearing up to enforce the dress code regulations strictly, this year, the “dress code” definition, will not die down, till we get the point across.

And if the management thinks, that we will be contempt with this relaxation, then they are under a wrong presumption,We need a proper definition of “Dress code”,Floral Shirts , Don’t, in the name of Rudraram , come under the definition  of formal Shirt!(More on it later!)

Regards,
