We apologize for expressing our inability to explain the new seats pattern,earlier.

SMS GUIDELINES:

We have been asked on numerous occasion to have the teams(LAGH team obviously!) presence felt on campus,for the convenience of the prospective students/juniors ,i.e,to have a bunch of seniors assist them,and educate them about the Hyderabad Campus or Vizag for that matter.

But due to various reason we are unable to do that,as our association with some members of the faculty /management has been pretty bitter.

Since all we seek is the good of our juniors,and give them all we can through this portal,the basic driving fact which still holds water is that,when we were getting ready to enter the chambers of the Hyderabad campus,we hardly had any prior information,for the past 6 months we have struggled to put this blog together,and in the past 48hrs alone,we have spent close to 30 hrs,answering queries,in various forums,including the blogs Comments section/Admission queries,and also on Orkut,GITAM UNIVERSITY communities,also the facebook fan page.

In our endeavour to make this experience much more enriching for the students we have decide to launch an SMS guidelines system for the next 3 days.

Simple,we give you a number,and any trouble during the counselling you can ask us for help,since you cant obviously log into the internet and ask us but ,we will be available via the mobile number,we are going to provide you.

Calls won’t be accepted in any case!(Security reasons,anonymity is the triumph card of the blog,and we expect to keep it that way !)

INTRODUCTION:

Well,GAT 2010 first session was pretty impressive,from am observers point of view,but for many students it was disappointing,for most of the sub 3k rank holders were expecting to get an ECE Seat,but due to various reasons including the delay of the EAMCET ranks(they were released today),the shift in the previous ranking and this year was enormous.

ECE CLOSED-other options:

The ECE branch is full at the vizag campus,We would suggest other students not to be disheartened and wait for the sliding to take place.

Most of these people probably choose GITAM as a back up,and once the mist over their other options clear,they might end up withdrawing their admissions,hence leaving a void which will be filled up by other rank holders/

CAUSE:

We have been asked this question,today on various forums,Facebook Fan pages,and mails too,the answer to this question “Why the drastic change from the last year session to this years session ?”

Is pretty simple,the seat matrix as we already told you the seat matrix is heavily based on two factors:

It was last year!!
It takes into consideration all the counselling session(3-4 including sliding)this is just the first part,and last year to it was probably the same :)
EAMCET results were announced today,unlike last year when they came well before the counselling of GITAM university commenced.

SEATS LEFT:

The following is a matrix based on a snapshot taken at 3:00 p.m. today.

For Open Category,the unfilled reservation seats will be added to these,to take them to the projected total as per the previous Seat matrix.
