Another set of dates:Industrial Tours….Day:03/10/2010

Lets get this straight right in the start,we are seriously sick of it!!!

First you take us on an industrial tour and make us stand for close to 90+ mins,in an industry,making us attend a lecture,about the industry but hardly giving us a chance to see it,in action,btw most of the EEE lot,agree it was much better than having to attend the Bears period,or for that matter a Phy lab session(B***k bear=>Bear,I don't want a racist tag!!!),Wondering where I got this racism,fever from..???

THE HOSTELS GET THE FIRST COLOURS!!!

Its here and its set to stay,the foundation layer of paint,or I better put it this way,the primary paint coating,on the Hostel building has finally rolled over(the building :P).

FOOTBALL HYSTERIA,DIES DOWN???

Well,I don't think that,it actually,its just lying low due to some apparent trouble with the football,as such,but heck it sure,is to bounce back to normal,as soon as they get all their equations right!!!

PANDEMONIUM ON CAMPUS-POST LUNCH:

Utter chaos,would be a very subtle way of hiding what actually happened on campus once the lunch break ended.It was “anarchy” at its best,seriously never seen such kinda of activity,going on,at a particular time on campus,like today,keep away exceptional days,which fall prior to or in the proximity of a special event/day.

CSE batch I,was out in full swing after being kicked out of the Auto Cad,lab,a special word of thanks to Babu Rao ji,from a quite a lot of Batch I(and batch II,for Monday) students,sir!!!

Students from other streams,like ECE kept roaming all over the campus,most of them didn’t even have a clue as to which period they ought to be in!!!

And do note,this was the situation,of ECE,the obvious studious group,then the others were no better..

The college,had ppl rushing about with things,all over the place,bumping into the same set of ppl over and over,a person apparently,bumped into another guy,about 3 times,in less than 10mins(Screaming Out Loud:Expand the Campus Soon!!!!) 

EEE and It were into a guest lecture,ala seminar by some guy,on Nanotechnology,this was the same seminar which had to be postponed due to the recent Telangana bandh,which was called when a couple of students succumbed to fire burns,(Rest in peace,blessed souls.)

INDUSTRIAL TOURS:

ECE: 5th,Feb.

CSE:6th,Feb

IT: NA

EEE: here.

The place has been changed,quite a couple of times,but the permissions and letters to gain access to the industries,are still unused,and we can expect them to be used after a couple of weeks,for more info here you go…

The place,is in Balnagar,IDA,Secunderabad.Its probably,Impact metal,too,but we always have the ECE lot to give us a first hand review of the visit,and I am bound to shed more  light on this topic,in short,I am goona get a little team to pay the Industries man,Babu ji,a lil visit,come on I need the faculty to contribute to this blog too..!!!(I spare,you,Bear sahib!)Oh crap!!!!I have been lashing out a lot at Balaji ji,its only cause the even more popular target Sampath is missing in action,they are good guys,they don't teach all that greatly,and we hate them(OOPs!!Hate is a strong word,Dislike fits better),so,We dislike them simply cause they are strict and they are way to weird!!!!!

NANO MATERIALS SEMINAR:

This,is the only other useful seminar conducted on campus,.this particular sem!!!(First being the SMART thingy)

This was on for the IT and EEE lot,and most of the Batch I-CSE students and loads of others from ECE jumped into it to,ala,an excellent reason to skip the classes,this wasn't a closed door Seminar it was open for all except those who had labs to take care off..!!!

University or a Circus??

Well,seriously!!!!we ought to have some kind of basic standards set,agreed that the Industrial tours,seminars are on a roll,but heck,what was that magic show supposed to be all about???

May be a better magician would have done the trick..:P,okay I arn’t gonna get personal about the Magician,but the management has gotta pull up its sleeves,and do some better work,most of the seminars till date haven't been seriously worth it,apart from SMART (period.)

KEELE UNIVERSITY :

Another one bites the dust,this was on the similar lines of the last University visit,vis a vis,Greenwich University ,but this was (apparently)comparatively better,it was the same thing Blah Blah Blah,of University has got this and that,we would love to see you and stuff…

It was on for the ECE and MBA students,only.

MAGIC SHOW:

This was dumb,seriously the way the reviews are coming in with respect to the Magic show in EEE,are dumb,it was on for close to 10-15 mins,only and most of the ppl left after that,ignoring to witness,any more tricks…

NEW BUS PARKING BAY:

Its final the new workshop is finally coming up,and the bus bay has been shifted into the extended construction zone,more info here.this doesn't hold much for us,but heck now that the construction of the workshop foundation is on full swing,I am gona speed up my next SCOOP!! on the Workshop too..!!!

THE PHY TEST:

Finally,the phy test has been held,CSE has been dodging this particular test from a very long time.lol,the Bear(formatted version of Black bear:racist remarks,apparently,hence only the Bear),but the thing is,it was more like a dumb writing session than a slip test as such!!!

Ppl,were into “Team Work”,and most of the time they kept flipping back the pages in the assignment book,in order to write the answers,just two questions,and Patrudu Sir,did give “a hint”,about the questions yesterday,made it much simpler,close to 15 odd ppl bunked the test,wonder what the consequences would be like..!!!

Disastrous start to a New Month.

Well,the month started off on a pretty bad note,actually the day did start of on a pretty bad note may be its a an omen,whether a bad one or a good one(Trust me you do have Good Omens!!),time will decide.

NARAYANAGUDA ROUTE-AMEERPET BUS:

The  Narayanaguda  bus,met with a dumb accident early in the morning which delayed the bus by close to 40 odd mins,the bus met with an accident which involved an innova,

Here’s the complete story:

The driver of the innova smashed into the road divider,and this dumb guy lost control of the vehicle,which swerved onto the left of the road and collided into the bus which was doing close to 60kmph,well the innova is in no fit shape to be re used,its in a very deadly condition,here are some pics:

Note:The zigzag,stuff is just to drive home the point,of how bad the innova was :P

 

 

 

The damage to the GITAM bus was meniscus compared to the damage of the Innova,but heck,lets get back to the story,the driver of the Innova was forced to call up his owner who lives around Ashoknagar,and this guy took close to 40 mins to arrive.

Umesh bhaiyya(Our driver),called up the management who asked him to come over to the campus with out further delay,but it would look like a hit and run,if the bus did start off to the campus,and we waited,we waited desperately for the owner to arrive on the site on the accident,but as time passed we were growing to be very impatient and raring to have a dig at the owner when he does arrive..

This effect is no better either..:P

  

The owner arrives:

Finally around 8:10 odd,the owner arrived with a couple of other guys,on a pulsar and some other bike,but crap as we were of the preoccupied notion to kick his a*s off,we were just waiting for a chance to put up a good fight,but as luck would have it he turned out to be a really SWEET guy!!!!

The guy spoke so damn pleasantly that,he gave no indications of his car being wacked up,and considering very little damage done to our bus.lol..!!!

This was the apparent conversation:

This ownerwala was like ,I was worried,on hearing that it was a GITAM bus,I was under the impression that you ppl are from Vishakhapatnam,and I rushed out with the papers as soon as possible.

Something like that..

next he went,I will file an FIR and as my innova has an insurance cover,I will cover your bus repair expenses in that too..

And the best part??

He was concerned about us being late to the college,and he asked us if we had any exams or something important now how’s that..???

Most of the heat in the guys cooled off the instant he got down from the bike and started off with a “Sorry”,he was a wonderful person,the moment we saw a Fancy number,248,we expected some darn fat corrupted poltico guy to come to the drivers rescue,but we got it all wrong,and I am glad we got it wrong..!!!

This my dear readers,would be the best possible start to the month….

GREENWICH UNIVERSITY “DELEGATION”:

It wasn't a delegation as such,per se,it was just a Woman,Ms.Maxine Davis,the international Director of the University ,dropped by for a visit,along with Mr.Himanshu Barthwal,the director of Admissionsoverseas,a consultancy firm based in Hyderabad.

The seminar started off at around 11:00,for the Computer science department(read:CSE and IT),with the probability of  another session for ECE and EEE,being due tomorrow.

Nothing much to make a fuss off out of the visit,it was just a simple PowerPoint presentation on their university,admissions,and life in the United Kingdom.

Mr.Himanshu’s session was more interactive,but still we were rather disappointed that it didn't concern,us much,as I keep repeating over various post’s of this blog,this seminar,was apparently just to increase the number of visit’s it didn't hold much water for us,unless we get some confirmed information about what happened behind the closed door session in the BOM ROOM,we will never know if this delegation was worth it or not,did the management consider this to be an important visit???

With all the pom-pom over this visit,it was pretty obvious that it did,we had two banners,one outside the main gate,and another in the conference hall.

Well if the students exchange program does click then,it will be worth it..

The highlights of the seminar..?

This was simply the best,

• Pranav got up and asked Mr.Himanshu,about a particular song used in the background of his video.

It was fun,I mean he has loads of guts to actually ask suck an interesting Question,btw Mr.Himanshu didn’t know the answer,but Ms.Maxine did oblige,it was Break free by Queen.

News just coming in,this is apparently a “Chatta lo chatta University”(LAMO)(telugu:Eng translation:one of the dumbest),I have no kind of obligation to project that this is one of the best universities in London,just cause it visited GITAM,no I choose to differ and I am goona stick to the above comment its.

EEE GETS A RAW DEAL:

The part two of the previous industrial tour was scheduled to take place,today but the Director cancelled it giving out some seriously dumb reason.This visit was supposed to be an extension of the previous on,which took place on 30/01/2010.

Whether it will still takes place,remains to be seen..!!!

Seminars on a roll,so are Industrial tours..!!!!

Well not really..!!!The fact is we a special 2hr session every week for each branch allotted for Guest Lectures and the likes of it,its just that this week,its been on a roll,unlike the last sem,when we had just a couple of sessions…

CSE and ECE:Friday.

IT and EEE  :Wednesday

VISU INTERNATIONAL: 

Wow!!!This is what I call a recognized guest lecture,I didn't even have to Hyperlink the text,visu international ,this editor,was able to do it all by itself!!!

The person who came over today was MR.Ramesh Kumar,this guy had the lunch in the canteen,next to quite a bunch of students,but heck little did they know that this was going to give the lecture,lol,they were going all over the place discussing all kind of dumb stuff,a Very Warm Welcome to you Mr.Ramesh Kumar.

This guy came over to tell us all about,preparing for GRE,TOFEL and the likes of it.

He went over the importance of training for such kind of exams,and also stressed the need for further studies,abroad,his accent was awesome,he flattered the auditorium by the sheer brilliance of his flawless accent.

The session winded up at around 3:30 odd,no football again today,it was on yesterday but heck,the ball was apparently misplaced,crap!!!!

Did the football freaks,bash up the guy who was supposed to get the ball,(I don't seriously have to name him again most of you know him B.Ajay)not just yet,let him get the ball first then we will quench our thirst for vengeance!!!

IT  and EEE,don't bother to go berserk and create rampage as to why you didn't have a guest lecture today,crap!!!you get to attend his session next week,that to with a presentation!!!!

NEW PHYSICS FACULTY:

Not even a single person who contributes to this blog,has been able to recollect the new faculty ka name,WTF!!!!!

anyways for now,lets name him Mr.Sharma,they do remember something like that..lol..quick review on him..?Here goes..!!

• not bad at teaching
• Helps quite a lot in the lab
• Lenient than Patrudu ji(Awesome!!)

Btw,its been two days since he joined the GITAM faculty,yet ppl hardly discussed him lol,he looks like the tough kind,but apparently is not,wonder what his true colours are..!!!

BREAKING NEWS:

News just pouring in just now,and also scrolling on the top bar of this blog,this is now confirmed,and apparently just for the CSE stream,this means a lot as plenty of ppl decided to take a day off tomorrow,in order to enjoy the weekend,but heck this adds a new variable to the already confused equations of bunking,and this parameter,ought to get ppl back to their books,lol,but heck ,you lot don’t stop reading keep going on ,glue onto to this blog,and its better than that phy thing you have gotta face tomorrow… 

EEE INDUSTIRAL TOUR:

I wonder if any readers are still left after that breaking news just now,but getting back to the post EEE is all set to make history tomorrow,when it goes on the first industrial tour,of GITAM Hyd,tomorrow,where in the world is still a question.

Is it EEE or ECE is still a dilemma,but one thing is confirmed the news with respect to the trip to Godavari Electricals,is right,in all aspects except that it was Vijaya electrical(Small correction-my bad,ala sources got confused :( )The other option being Impact Metals(Casting division),at Bollaram,close to Miyapur,Babu rao ji announced this in the classrooms today,

So ppl out there it would be better if you can just visit the following links in order to have a clear cut view before hand,cant post all the links but here is a simple summary:

ECE: Vijai Electricals(close to Rudraram)

CSE:Impact metals(Bollaram,IDA)

EEE:Godavari Electricals(Isnapur)

CSE/IT would be visiting it probably on the 3rd or 4th of Feb,respectively.EEE tomorrow,and ECE not yet decided,the students will be visiting it in batches of 32 or 33 depending on the strength of the branch,and It as a whole section,due to the low strength.

• Photo sessions,so be “prepared”.
• Wear Shoes.
• Its an industry,guys don't bother to hunt for birds plz..!!!

GREENWICH DELEGATION VISIT:

A delegation of Greenwich University,is set to arrive on the campus on the first and second of Feb,and another University,from United Kingdom too,this is going to be the first visit by such a high profile delegation in the history of GITAM Hyd,watch out this space for the special coverage.

Apparently they will be dealing with CSE and ECE only,but unconfirmed reports put IT and EEE next in line too.

REINCARNATION OF THE CANTEEN:

Its here,and its all set to stay,the prices are high,but the distance is far too..!!!

Mr. Raj is an Ex GITAMite,he is one of the elite few,who passed out from the GITAM’s first batch way back in the 1980’s,this is what he says makes his commitment to improve the quality further more stronger.His female cousin helps him manage the canteen,today was the first meal severed by this new manager,here the snippets:

• 5 dishes.
• Pullihora.
• roti with another curry.
• price 25/-

Awesome!!!

Apparently,He is waiting for the new canteen structure,to be handed over in order to go into the full fledged mode…

One,source informed that,he is determined to win the contract to supply food to the hostels too,ala run the messes in the hostel,which will make it a win win situation for him as well…

He welcomed most of the students who approached him prior to the lunch break,with a “We are here to provide homely food in a homely atmosphere!!!”Stick to this Raj ji,and you wont regret it..!!!

the chocolates and the drinks are all back,a bit more costlier,but heck we at least have them now!!!

Most of the chocolates priced at 10 are sold for 12,same with 5 becoming 6rs lol.

MR.Raj is ready to take in suggestions and we will finally have spoons,he also manages quite a couple of other canteen facilities spread al lover the city,hence the Maruthi Versa I believe(:P),his prominent one being in Sanath nagar,more updates on this guy and the canteen,will soon follow..!!!

There’s plenty of action going around the campus,its hard to capture all this with the trifle of contributors I have got,soon you will be able to text me your updates too..!!!

S.M.A.R.T. Seminar…..was it worth It???

Well,the day started off on a pretty low,note ppl were running all over the campus for little odd things,and triffles  like getting the observations corrected,checking out the staffroom to see if the lab lot were present or not,and who all called in sick,in short everything was as it normally was,when compared to a regular working day after 4 days filled with energy(Saturday,Sunday,Monday,Tuesday).

S.M.A.R.T SEMINAR:

It was something like this ,SMART stand for Super Memory Ability Recalling Technique(I arn't smart enough to recall it properly!),founded by TVS Subramaniam,,I don't have anything much with me,expect a couple of vague reviews on the guest lecture,over all it seriously wasn't worth it,yes the management is edging towards its target of X no of seminars,but heck,I googled both of them,SMART institute and TVS Subramaniam,both didn't result in anything related to them.

CSE and IT:

this was the first batch of session to be handled by the guest lecturer,and they apparently started off on a bad note,the first five to ten odd mins disastrous with the last couple of rows going over the top,then Sanjay ji,pulled out all the last row ppl and put in the front empty rows,but when you deal with last benchers it doesn't matter whether they are in front or at the back they just get there way,and these ppl did,with plenty of dumb jokes this batch did give that guy a seriously hard time!!!

They was plenty of disturbance and stuff like that but at the end of the session,the students came out with totally mixed reviews,ranging from Excellent(those who missed Balaji Rao’s period) to Dumb!!!(Those who missed Patrudu sir’s period),it was a good way to spend 2 hrs…!!!

It started at around 11:10 odd and packed it up by 12:45,to be precise,that’s two solid periods,seriously ,I still wonder how the faculty could stand two periods going down “unproductively” to it!!

ECE and EEE:

Pakao…!!!!

Baghoo,Baghoo..!!!

This was it,this session had more kinda of similar reviews,each person degrading the session even more,the practice of the last rows coming to the first continued here too..lol..!!!

This session was a bit longer compared to the previous one,probably the reason it sucked,most of the lot didn’t seriously like it,they would have apparently preferred bunking the seminar and moving over to the ground,but heck everyone unanimously agreed that this was loads better than Balaji sir’s period..:P

“SEATING” ARRANGEMENTS:

Murali sir,brought a disastrous plan with  him into the class today,he decided to spilt up the trouble makers,ala back benchers,so that the class can be taught more peacefully,this invariably took up loads of time,but heck this seems to be a change he is going to like..!!!

PHY LAB-STRIKES AGAIN!!!

The last time,the CSE lot had the physics lab,the buses had to be delayed by over 15 mins,this time it was no better,the buses started close to 20 odd mins late,they did go out of the campus but heck they just spotted outside the gate!!!

NEW CANTEEN UNDERWAY:

The directors,Sanjay ji,and Koteshwar Rao garu,broke the narial (Coconut!),and initiated the construction process of the new canteen right opposite to the existing canteen structure,but at the other end of the campus,the first rumor which hit the students was that the JCB parked next to the wall was going to break down that section of the wall in order to expand the campus,but the proceeding shut the rumour mills down!!

So what in the world is this news with respect to the new canteen..???

Wait for the exclusive SCOOP!!,coming this week guys..!!!
