We Can Help!!

Well,Its been one hell of a week, with the college working for only 3 odd days, and the subsequent posts with regard to those three days, its been a pretty boring, week so finally i decided to up the snob value of this particular blog by going high on  by making it a platform for promoting more thought provoking organisations, based on the lines of Jaago re!.

The following organisations have been added to the blog after a close scrutiny of their activities, and rest assured you can fearlessly join then,ad you inbox will definitely not be bombarded with spam(its the general perception). These Organisations have been added after verifying their credits, and a through background check, and a major point which has been taken into consideration is the relation of the particular organisation with the Indian society,in general;the fact is I can find a billion organisations around the globe  and upload them, but it would be worthless if I myself am not a part of it,or if it doesn’t help us in any way(or the nation,in particular).exemplification?.

Simple:I can add a organisation/forum against the atrocities of SHELL  w.r.t to the Ogoni community,Nigeria, but hardly anyone would know what it is all about,so it would be pointless to do it.

The current organisations are:

                                paz26

                                paz23_mod

  • Pratham

                            az20

I don’t seriously have to  elaborate on the following, organisations,as they are very capable on their own,but very few actually know them ,except those who work in that particular field, its just out of sheer pleasure I take in being a part of them, and the urge to make others aware of these organisations(and yes i am a part of all the organisation on this blog).

Well, that's the lot, hope to add plenty more good organisation to this blog.

On a serious note wishing the college is back to normal.

Paz.

JNTUH/OU declare "Winter vacation",GU to follow suite??

Ole!
Greeting everyone,
wishing all you readers out there a Happy Christmas!
Getting back to the point of this particular post,it was pretty evident that most of us were expecting a second wave of holidays once the first wave was completed on 18th Dec.And it wasn't all that difficult to foresee the events, actuality, the probability of the first wave and the second wave of holidays being clubbed into a single,December vacation, was evident once the political turmoil was at its peak, but due to the amends made by the Central Govt.,on the night of 9th Dec,the first wave came to an end.

First wave:
JNTUH:4/12/2009 to 21/12/2009(most of the colleges)
OU:4/12/2009 to 19/12/2009(excluding,a couple which opened up on 14th.period.)
GU:26/11/2009 to 18/12/2009(it was mixed with the Zeroth wave,Ala sem break)

Second wave:
JNTUH:24/12/2009 to 01/01/2010
OU:24/12/2009 to 05/01/2010
GU:24/12/2009 to 01/01/2010(To be confirmed)
The current set of holidays, were expected once the Central Govt.decided to take a U-turn and decided to put the T-problem on halt, and the consequence followed,i am not interested in elaborating any of the consequences, its already filled up in all kinda of media forms, and the last thing would be create a havoc on this young blog, seriously,I would love hyd to become a .U.T.(Ala,as Hyd metro limits, but not the .G.H.M.C./.M.C.H.,limits plz).

Third wave:
NO way, please!!!!aren't we sick of these two waves of holidays,in the name of sponge bob square pants,we hardly attended the classes in Dec,@GU just 4 working days, till date.dumb.period.

COLLEGE CLOSED on 24/12/2009

The Bandh Effect:

Well everyone the college is shut today, due to the "unforeseen" political turmoil in the capital, its just been four days since the college started, and I predict that the next time it opens will probably be on 29th of Dec,taking into due consideration that most of the students may not turn up on the 26th Dec, being a Saturday, the college works only till 2:50,the lowest turnout will surely be from C.S.E,as they have an Eng lab in the afternoon session .

Its seriously pathetic,I mean we all got so used to Sirisha maam, that replacing her gotta be a very difficult task(a special post on her later people, its still under process!!!).

As usual E.C.E.,is gona turn out in full swing(at least 80% attendance.lol.),E.E.E. remains unpredictable,I am guessing 60% turnout. But the most ridiculous section would be I.T.(no offence),with a strength of just around 48 people, and with a low turnout of around 30+ for the past 3 days,26th will surely be a disaster, the college better be closed, instead of witnessing a disastrous turnout(if anyone does turn up).On a serious note,I doubt,if the ABVP/TRS activists would let the capital be in peace, the recent update is that the 48hrs bandh is going to be suspended tomorrow, taking due note of the fact that its Christmas. But,its crystal clear that it will be revoked on 26th.

A little update on NH-9:

Apparently the tollgate at Patancheru, operated by a congress MP(not gona name him),was rammed by TRS activists, today morning. So the only way to get to the campus is to wait for it to be functional again.

Paz.

The Canteen issue-resolved?

Well in the previous sem,the management had a very bad relation with the canteen management. The canteen(managed by a couple of guys in their early 20's) provided the tickets to the students for the movie Magadheera(31/07/2009),close to 80 odd students bunked, and 50+ watched the movie, the Gitam management wasn't pleased at all.Its after this that the cold war started, the management has been looking at various ways to change the canteen management, but in vain. Finally the GITAM management realized that the only way it could kick them out,is to capitalize on the fact that the canteen food isnt all that good, its a simple logic, conduct a survey and the students pissed at the managements inaction towards the state of the canteen are bound to reply very negatively about the canteen's management, giving a very strong reason for the GITAM management to kick out the current canteen management.(Personally the food isn't all that great).

The final move:

after a long wait, and having plenty of other serious issues on hand, the management has finally decided lash the the canteen management(in a very figurative way,not literally),around noon, the "CANTEEN FACILITY-SURVEY FORMS",were distributed, and as expected, the students did create a havoc on the sheets, strongly hitting out at the canteens managements inability to provide a variety of food. The final nail in the coffin was that the students who used to bunk and stay back in the canteen too, went against the canteens management(Who in the world wouldn't like to have some variety of food, snack stuff?).

Conclusion:
Simple:Definite change in the canteen management.Hoping the new management does it better.

Paz.

The Curriculum review session-21/12/2009

First things first, the college was all decked up to welcome a high profile delegation,it was touted to be a full day workshop for the students(obviously the first in the campus),but the shock hit the students when it turned out in the favor of the teachers, the staff was stuck up in the conference hall for most part of the day and a special buffet arranged for the delegation and the staff too.lol.

The effect:
1.All new light covers in the entrance, designer stuff, brand-Phillips(this was seriously surprising!!)
2.Probably for the first time the campus was under full fledged air conditioning right from the unoccupied 2nd floor to the cellar(with the students;they have been hell lot of test runs:P,when the campus was virtually empty.).It was already pretty cold out here in Rudraram, but yet the management went ahead with the A/C .dumb.
3.All the branches were stuck up in the labs.Initial morning lab session had the main faculty, and the afternoon session was utter chaos,we had the assistants, who could hardly monitor us.
4.A very boring day,we seriously had way to much free time!!!

Note:-We didn't even get to be a part of that dumb workshop!!!!!

Paz.

The IEEE Chapter

The GITAM Hyderabad campus is all set to establish an IEEE chapter(functional by jan'10).Even though the paper work was completed around 2 months prior to this meeting,(thanks to Mr.T Babu rao)due to the semester end exams, and the unforeseen political turmoil that followed in the city, leading to an indefinite postponement of the work to elect the representatives, nevertheless the faculty was determined to get the chapter underway by jan'10,and hence convened today's meeting at 14:00 hrs, even though its just the third working day of the semester, not dithered by the Curriculum review delegations visit(which happens to be very important)to elect the following and proceed with the establishment of the chapter:

1.Chairman
2.Vice chairman
3.Secretary
4.Treasurer

It was unanimously decided to give the responsibility to the following, with due consideration to the number of members of each bath:

Chairman - Shyaam(E.E.E)
Vice chairman- Sumeet(E.E.E)
Secretary - J.Karthik(E.C.E)
Treasurer - C.Pavan(C.S.E)

The work to open various other prominent chapters is underway.watch this space!!

The start of the new sem...

Finally, after close to 20 odd days, the college is functional again!!!
(26/11/09 -17/12/09).
Many of us were really pleased to get back to the college and most of us were in a shock at the developments in the last couple of weeks with respect to the campus.

The parapet wall was ripped apart at various places,i.e. where the pillars are located, and they were still going on,as expected the college is going to witness a high profile make over in the next couple of weeks(or months),a faculty member did confess that two floors will be ready by june'10.(that make it 4+cellar!).And the best part is the management is trying its best not to cause any inconvenience to the regular proceedings.

The corridor in the ground floor, was packed up with cements bricks, blocking the staircase leading to the 1st floor, while the other two staircases were left intact.

Slowly as we got the hang on things we realized the use of this blockade:

1.The construction on the 3rd floor,is apparently under way, hence the staircase is blocked off for use of the construction work,(a seriously innovative move) which prevents the construction materials, workers, from hampering the classes.

2.Its gives a strong message to the parents that"We care!!"(pathetic but nevertheless true).
Disadvantages:
1.there is hardly any sunlight entering the corridor with respect to the blockade end!!!Its seriously annoying not to be able to feel the sunlight.
2.Its blocks a vital way to gain access to the rest of the building(Ala,bunk!)

Paz.

IIT HYDERABAD

The future campus of IIT-H,is located very close to the Gitam campus, around 5km from the campus, even thought it might take ages for IIT-H campus to develop into a full fledged one,it is a very prominent landmark.

Regards,

Paz.

Finally...gitam hyd on google maps!!

Its close to five month's(July-09) since the inception of the Gitam Hyderabad campus, yet never to be found on Google maps.
Anyways Google it and you are bound to find a vague location of the campus,on Google maps, but please note,
1.The new campus structures like the workshop, building etc is not visible,Ala not yet updated to Google maps.
2.Its a totally vague representation,as Rudraram is a confusing village!!.

Paz.
